Right - am now on message :-)

Faster loading (well I have to guess this as our connection speeds
here have suddenly quadrupled...) is a big plus.

TV/Radio programme pop-up menu is good. Generally the navigation of
the previous version was stronger in some aspects, however this
version works for me. Some people may find the number of links
daunting but the index metaphor works well - alphabetical order is
good but get rid of the "BBC" before category names, we know it's the
beeb!

Grey is, well, grey...... Yes by all means try to make the
navigation aspects of the site subtle, however the graphic design has
impinged on the corporate look and feel to give a less than inspiring
effect, certainly not memorable or fun. Content is king but
presentation is also very important. Forget grey......

Graphically, the grouping of areas is not strong enough - this is a
grey related problem.

As for BBCi - well to use a term of the same period, it's
naff.......... The Beeb does not need this additional corporate
identity. Perhaps there are bigger plans afoot - perhaps in the
future people will be saying "did you see so and so on BBCi last
night"? I hope my licence fee covers a broadband connection ;-)

Complete reviews and evaluation of the new Beeb look and feel,
navigational issues and functionality available for a very reasonable
fee at info at apexusability.com
