With all technical gear (broadband equipment included), there's always
the chance that you're going to end up with a lemon. And usually, you'll
find inept and difficult tech support sitting between you and your
replacement hardware. The solution is to find the best way to get what
you want out of their support team as quickly as possible.
Maybe we need to start a repository of tips for dealing with awkward
tech support people. After all, each company has different systems for
dealing with customers, and some of the people on this list may have had
experience of dealing successfully with a specific company's tech
support. ;) I know a couple of ways to short-circuit Dell's tech support
for example and get faster support. It's got to be useful to someone out
there...
